Scuba Dive with the Gentle Giants of the Maldives with DIVEIndia Outbound
As far as diving destinations go, the Maldives needs no introduction. While it’s picture postcard islands and beaches have drawn visitors for years, the diving remains a big draw for people who make the journey over. With over 1100 islands, a huge variety of dive sites, beautiful coral gardens, and a reputation for regular sightings of enigmatic pelagics, you could do thousands of dives in the region and still not have enough.
Variety in diving terms is the key here, with the chance to do mellow reef dives, channel mouths during the changing tides to try and see big stuff, drift dives that will have you hurtling past magnificent walls, coral covered pinnacles, and blue water dives. Divers who want to see big animals have plenty to hope for with the chance to see whitetips, blacktips, grey reef, leopard and whale sharks, and fingers crossed, hammerheads, manta and other rays. As for life over the reef, expect lots of the usual suspects like morays, schooling snapper and sweetlips, surgeonfish and batfish.
